Steps to Become a USA Hockey Certified Coach

USA Hockey and the Coaching Education Program require both certification and registration to be eligible to coach. Registration is done online on a yearly basis. Certification is also required. A few basic steps requirements are as follows:

Complete USA Hockey National Level Background Screening.

Complete the PA background screening.

(Found on your affiliate website and some affiliates require approval before you can be added to a roster).

Complete the USA Hockey Safe Sport Training.

(Required every two years and cannot be added to a roster until completed).

Complete the online age-specific module(s) for the age level of play you are coaching.

(Cost is $10 per module and only needs to be completed once per age level. Must be completed PRIOR to participating in any team activities and cannot be added to a roster until completed)

Are you looking to become involved in helping youth ice hockey? Our In-House program offers a great opportunity for parents, or non-parents, to gain coaching experience in a fun & safe atmosphere! Our program does not focus on wins or losses… we focus on skill development and helping kids enjoy the game.

If you are interested in coaching in our In-House program, click on the links below or contact our Hockey Director at 215-997-9797, Ext. 104.To be a coach in our program, you must register under USA Hockey as a coach and attend a coaching symposium.
